With knowledge of recent developments in dentistry, we know we can provide better dental care than ever before. Our team is committed to the practice of preventive dentistry and we know that if our patients will do their part, it is possible for most patients to keep their natural teeth for a lifetime.

Preventive dental care services that we provide in our office include diagnostic dental examinations and necessary digital radiographs as well as hygiene services such as routine dental cleanings and fluoride treatments.

Dental Sealants

We recommend that children have dental sealants placed on permanent molars as soon as they erupt. Sealant material is painted on the chewing surface of the tooth and hardened with a special light. This smooth plastic barrier is easier to keep clean and helps prevent decay-causing bacteria from penetrating through deep pits and grooves in the tooth structure. The best part is that sealants do not require drilling or shots!

Periodontal Treatment

If your gums are swollen, tender, red, or if they bleed when you brush your teeth, you may have gingivitis, first-stage periodontal disease. Periodontal disease (gum disease) is the leading cause of tooth loss in U.S. adults and has been linked as a factor for increased risk of stroke, heart disease and diabetes complications.

At your first appointment, our dentists and our dental hygienists will assess your gums for signs of disease. If we detect problems, therapy may include preventive hygiene maintenance, scaling, root planing along with special rinses or placement of antibiotic medications. If periodontal disease is quite advanced, our doctors may recommend referral to a specialist, a "periodontist" for an evaluation.
